Italian Prime Minister Scheduled for Cosmetic Surgery

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is scheduled to have cosmetic surgery after suffering a broken nose during a political rally in Milan. He sustained injuries after a man threw a statue, leaving Berlusconi with a nasal fracture and two broken teeth.

Many people equate plastic surgery with wealthy socialites and Hollywood film stars. But, even foreign officials need to go under the knife sometimes – although not for the reasons you might expect.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is expected to undergo a cosmetic procedure in Switzerland after suffering a broken nose during a political rally in Milan on December 13th. He also suffered two broken teeth.

The injuries reportedly occurred when a man threw a statue at the 73-year-old prime minister’s face. The attacker was Massimo Tartaglia, who reportedly has a history of mental illness.

Berlusconi will have his plastic surgery at Switzerland’s Ars Medica Clinic – which is also where he had a face lift in 2003. This time he’ll be going in to have facial scars removed.

The prime minister is a controversial figure in Italy, with a shaky approval rating. But despite being physically attacked, Berlusconi said he’ll remember his time in office for two things: the hatred of a few and the love of many of his people.
