Tickle Lipo

Tickle Lipo

“We’re constantly coming up with new ways and new technologies to achieve real results with less down time,” claims Dr. Brian Reagan, a board certified plastic surgeon in San Diego, California.

tickle-lipoTICKLE LIPO™ , according to Dr. Reagan, is one of  those steps. “Tickle Lipo is Nutational, Infrasonic, Liposculpture.” N.I.L. is FDA approved for fat removal and body sculpting.  Instead of relying upon laser or ultrasound generated heat to break up the fat cells before removal, Tickle Lipo uses “nutational” technology in which the cannula (the tube used to remove fat and sculpt the body) moves in a circular whipping motion, known as “nutation”, during the liposuction process. This movement helps to gently separate and remove the fat cells more efficiently. The low frequency “infrasonic” vibration allows for the removal of body fat while respecting the surrounding tissues; resulting in smooth contour and a rapid recovery.

As a less-invasive technique than traditional liposuction, “Tickle Lipo allows me to do liposculpture in smaller areas, very comfortably with the patient awake in a simple office-based, out-patient manner.” Dr. Reagan’s bottom line? “I get less bruising, and less swelling. Liposculpture can be accomplished very safely, with very little down time. Most patients can go back to work in a day or two.”

Watch Out for Branded Surgeries with Fancy Names

Dr. Reagan warns that patients are seeing “an influx of new, branded surgeries with fancy names,” and not to be confused. Seeking the advice and information you need, from the sources you trust, is paramount to achieving the result that’s right for you. Before considering any type of surgery, ask about the surgeon’s credentials and how many Liposuction or Tickle Lipo procedures the physician has performed. You’ll want to make sure the physician has extensive experience and can show you excellent results.

“There’s nothing that we do that doesn’t have some form of down time or some chance of a little bit of bruising or swelling.” Surgery is practically synonymous with pain and recovery, but board-certified plastic surgeons are taking the next step towards a more comfortable experience.
