All In One Breast Procedure

All In One Breast Procedure

Being dissatisfied with your body can be a complex problem in the minds of many women, yet the solution can be quite simple. At the hands of board certified plastic surgeon, Daniel Maman, MD with 740 Park Plastic Surgery in Manhattan, an augmentation-mastopexy (breast implant combined with a breast lift) often provides women the appearance they want to achieve, with only one surgery.

A breast augmentation is used to help a patient enhance the size, shape, and projection of their breasts. This procedure adds volume, firmness and definition with natural looking results.

With an augmentation/mastopexy,  Dr. Daniel Maman takes a breast that rests lower than desired; due to child birth, weight fluctuations or aging — and both lifts and enlarges the breast at the same time.

Mastopexy, or breast lift, allows the surgeon to remove saggy, excess skin making the breast skin envelope smaller and perkier.  Once lifted, the surgeon can now augment the breast with a smaller, more appropriately sized breast implant giving fullness in all the right places.

“One of the beauties of this combined treatment plan is that we use our patients “own” native breast tissue which allows us to implant a smaller implant, providing a more natural look,” says Daniel Maman, MD.

Because it’s a challenging operation, patients should select a board certified surgeon who focuses on performing augmentation mastopexy — such as 740 Park Plastic Surgery. “We do a lot of these procedures.”

Often times women may think they need just a lift; or just an implant. Maman says using 3D imaging in his practice and being able to show his patients photos or animations delineates the vast difference a combined procedure can make.

“These patients are ecstatic, and we are too! With these results, women are much happier with having both procedures at once,” says Maman. “Doing one procedure alone would not have given them as great a result.”

How Long Is The Recovery?

Most people can return to work in a about a week, allowing two to three weeks for a full recovery.

“Since we’re combining the two operations, it may seem like there would be longer recovery, however the patient actually has the same recovery as you’d have with an augmentation or mastopexy alone; it’s remarkable!”
