Amanda Peet Expects to Sag ‘No Matter What’

Amanda Peet, co-star of the disaster epic 2012, is well aware that when it comes to keeping a good-looking body, effort helps – but nothing stops the march of time.

amanda-peetAmanda Peet co-stars in the new disaster epic 2012, where she never has occasion to strip onscreen. She has gotten bare for a movie before – but explained that body makeup and lighting helped her look better than she really does. In other words, she’s just like the rest of us, and movies aren’t real life.

I have an inner conflict,” Peet, now 37, recently told Parade magazine. “I’ll be at the gym and I’ll start thinking, ‘What am I doing? I’m going to sag no matter what I do.’”

She pointed out that many famous women who look terrific are basically just a product of major effort and special resources, rather than luck. Even then, time has a way of marching over youth – and looking great begins to require more and more effort.

“Someone with a figure like Jennifer Aniston has a trainer, a cook spinning out some version of the latest diet, and probably a stop at the tanning salon,” she said. “Then teenage girls go, ‘God, I wish I could look like that.’ Maybe they wouldn’t if they knew what it took.”

Of course, looking like that can also require plastic surgery. Amanda Peet doesn’t have any confirmed cosmetic work under her belt. But, in citing Jennifer Aniston, she made her point with a good example.

In 2007, Aniston admitted to undergoing rhinoplasty to fix a deviated septum. She was also 37 when quoted about it. But, she denied other procedures rumored about her, such as breast augmentation.

“Best thing I ever did,” Aniston told People about the nose job. “I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as the other (rumors) go, as boring as it sounds, it’s still mine. All of it. Still mine. Short of letting everybody have a feel, I don’t know what else to do. I am pretty happy with what God gave me!”
