Ashley Dupre, known until now as a call girl to shamed governor Eliot Spitzer, has a brand new title — courtesy of the New York Post.
Ashley Dupre is 24 years old and has stayed busy during adulthood with the standard occupations. This includes being a cocktail waitress, an aspiring recording artist and also a high-end call girl, assigned to service New York governor Eliot Spitzer until they fell prey to FBI wiretap interception in 2008.
Her national attention included front page photos in the New York Post, which sold plentiful copies, no doubt. And now, possibly to return the favor, the Post has hired Dupre as a sex columnist.
Apparently editors at the New York Post believe those desperate for advice will turn to the relationship wisdom of one who has proven she can successfully behave pleased — no matter the circumstances.
“Sure, she’s made some mistakes. But now Ashley Dupre, the former escort who brought down Gov. Eliot Spitzer, is sharing what she’s learned in her new sex, love and relationship column – exclusively in the New York Post,” reads the column’s opening caption. “Is your husband cheating? Is your daughter on a dangerous path? Our readers asked – and Ashley fired back with her no-nonsense advice.”
“I suggest you be able to talk to her about boys, sex, alcohol and drugs, because they’re around and kids do experiment,” Dupre wrote in response to a mother concerned about her rebellious teenage daughter. “Would you rather educate her or have her getting alcohol-poisoning at a party? I’m not saying that you should condone that behavior, but you need to help her manage peer pressure and you do that not by saying ‘don’t do any of it, it’s all bad.’
“We all know that sometimes we’re attracted to the forbidden fruit.”
And sometimes, some of us are the harvesters. When the Spitzer prostitution scandal broke, the Post featured Dupre posing on the front page – topless with hands covering her breasts. She looked naturally healthy, but MakeMeHeal.com took the liberty of examining another photo and speculating that she had undergone breast augmentation to create her C cup. In the same feature, comparison photos revealed a very likely rhinoplasty.
If Dupre has had plastic surgery, the nose job seems to be the most probable case. But unless she intends to forsake her pop star aspirations and remain an unseen advice columnist, more knife time is a likely forecast.
