The first thing that you need to do is have the mole evaluated by a dermatologist. If it is harmless, then the doctor can reassure you of this and give you peace of mind. If it shows any worrisome signs of being a cancer then the doctor will take a biopsy to confirm exactly what it is. But DO NOT procrastinate. Most skin cancer is curable if caught early.
