Michael Douglas, one of Hollywood’s living legends and star of such films as Wall Street and Basic Instinct, is back in the news for his son’s recent drug trafficking charges. But, this isn’t the first time Douglas has made controversial headlines. His rumored plastic surgeries have also caught the media’s eye.
Basic Instinct leading man Michael Douglas is in the midst of a domestic drama. According to a report from E! Online, Michael’s son, Cameron Douglas, was arrested and is facing drug trafficking charges. Cameron is currently residing in the Metropolitan Correctional Center, and sources say he’s stuck there for a while. If convicted, Cameron is looking at a minimum of 10 years’ jail time. After a period of grieving, the family has spoken out.
“The family is devastated and very disappointed in Cameron’s recent behavior,” Michael Douglas and ex-wife Diandra Douglas said in a statement released to the press. “Any family who has dealt with substance abuse knows how devastating it can be.”
This isn’t the first time that Michael has made controversial headlines. He has also been a major player in the Hollywood plastic surgery rumor mill. When pictures surfaced of a suddenly wide-eyes wrinkle free leading man following his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones, gossip began to circulate.
“In my opinion, the big thing that stands out is how wide open his eyes are,” Dr. Anthony Youn wrote in an article on Wellsphere. “It looks as though he’s either had an upper blepharoplasty or an endoscopic browlift. I would bet on the former, but he may also have had both I suppose. The reason his neckline continues to sag, even with a possible facelift, is because the skin of most 63-year-old men with a history of sun damage does not have the strength to hold up as long as some women’s. The skin can tend to sag again somewhat quickly. Unfortunately, I see this in some of my older male facelift patients as well.”
A rep for Douglas has denied any plastic surgery and said that the only facial procedure he has undergone was having non-cancerous lesions removed. We may not know for sure about the Wall Street star’s plastics possibilities, but his son’s recent antics cannot be helping his fight against wrinkles.
