Plastic Surgery May Be Career Investment

We recently reported that white collar workers in China have been turning to cosmetic surgery to increase their chances of climbing the corporate ladder.

Well, it seems the same holds true here in the U.S., according to a recent survey from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

The survey—which included women between the ages of 18 and 64– revealed that 73 percent believe appearance and youthful looks play a part in getting hired, a promotion, or getting new clients.

13 percent surveyed say they would consider having a cosmetic procedure to make them more confident and more competitive in the job market, while 3 percent reported they had already done so.

Some surgeons also believe the economic downturn is starting to cause patients to seek cosmetic surgery to feel better about themselves. They note that plastic surgery can make you look good and feel better every time you look in the mirror, even if the financial cost may be high.
