Amy Winehouse, always in fear of a dull moment, created a scuffle at a stage production of Cinderella. Here’s what the court decided was justice.
If nothing else, Amy Winehouse is skilled at stirring the chaos pot, but recently, she was warned by a judge to behave less badly.
According to PopOnThePop.com, the troubled British singer has pled guilty to assault and was issued a small fine and two years of “conditional discharge.” The sentence is in light of a December 19 incident where she drunkenly clobbered manager Richard Pound during an English stage production of Cinderella.
The situation was surreal; Pound reportedly saw Winehouse intoxicated and out of her seat – and advised her to drink some water, instead of more booze, before returning to the audience. This didn’t rest well with the quick-tempered Winehouse, who kicked and punched the manager before being dragged away.
Winehouse avoided any major penalties for the incident, and will be legally free and clear if she stays out of trouble for 24 months.
The theater scuffle occurred only a few weeks after Winehouse was hospitalized due to leaky breast implants. Despite spending a royal $52,000 on breast augmentation some months earlier, she reportedly suffered extra pain from the surgery, and then a leak of fluid in November 2009. According to MTV, the leak was the result of an allergic reaction to drugs Winehouse had been taking to keep herself away from illegal substances.
