Donny Osmond Wins ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Donny Osmond took hold of a shining trophy during the November 24 season finale of Dancing With the Stars, putting him on “cloud nine.”

Donny Osmond DWTSDonny Osmond pledged to put his hard-won “disco ball” trophy on the roof of his house, having snagged it during the November 24 season finale of Dancing With the Stars.

“I’m so happy. I’m so happy. I’m so happy right now!” he sang out. “I’m on cloud nine!”

Sounded like it – and 19.2 million people watched him win season nine from home. Upon hearing his comments, opponent Kelly Osbourne joined Osmond and his dancing partner Kym Johnson, adding, “I’m so happy for you, I’m so happy for you!”

Osmond won because he and Johnson performed a tango that earned the highest score of all the final dances. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called the performance “artistry in motion.” With votes coming from home viewers and the panel of judges, Osmond’s work finally trumped all else.

Donny Osmond is now 51 and has the energy of quite a younger man. He still looks younger, too, though he insists plastic surgery has little to do with it.

“I tried Botox one time and I’ll never do it again,” he told Lara Spencer of The Insider in 2007. “It just didn’t work. I just wanna age, as they say, gracefully.”

He seems to be doing just that, as the Dancing voter turnout showed.
