Michael Douglas recently sang the praises of a couple of male “enhancement” drugs. Here’s what he said about what’s keeping him feeling young… and what he didn’t say.
Michael Douglas gave an interview to AARP magazine while filming Wall Street 2, saying he was thankful for the advances in modern science that have given older men medications like Viagra and Cialis.
“At least in your head, your fire burns as brightly. Let’s not kid ourselves. But God bless her that she likes older guys. And some wonderful enhancements have happened in the last few years–Viagra, Cialis–that can make us all feel younger.”
But is it just enhancements below the waist, or has Douglas’ younger-by-twenty-five-years wife inspired him to look younger? Douglas was spotted in April of 2009 with bandage covering a wound near his ear, a popular spot for a facelift incision.
However, according to his publicist, the photos were from 2005 when Douglas had several non-cancerous lesions removed from that area. Some bloggers cried foul since both sides of Douglas’ face were wounded.
Looking at recent photos and those from several years ago, it seems apparent that Catherine Zeta Jones’ husband Michael has had some work done. Experts like Dr. Tony Youn of the Celebrity Plastic Surgery blog say Douglas probably had a facelift at some point, and most likely an upper eye lift and brow lift as well: “I would bet on the former, but he may also have had both I suppose. The reason his neckline continues to sag, even with a possible facelift, is because the skin of most 63-year-old men with a history of sun damage does not have the strength to hold up as long as some women’s.”
Wall Street 2 hits theatres April 2010.
