New Moon castmates, including Taylor Lautner and Rob Pattinson, bared their amazing abs and chiseled chests in the latest trailer for the Twilight saga.
New Moon’s wolf pack, and even vampire Edward, showed their amazing abs to a tickled-pink VMA audience at Radio City Music Hall and viewers at home this weekend with the debut of a new trailer designed to titillate fans eagerly awaiting the November 20, 2009 release date.
While stars Rob Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and the ripped stars of New Moon achieved their definition through serious exercise, some work-a-day guys in the “real world” have discovered they just can’t get the sculpted look they’re after.
Enter “liposculpture” or “ab etching.” These procedures are essentially liposuction, with the intent to sculpt the appearance of muscle definition by removing fat very selectively.
Interestingly, this procedure isn’t really a shortcut to getting sculpted abs. In fact, it only works well on people who truly already have the muscle base on their abs, but because of genetics, they aren’t able to diminish enough of the layer of fat just below the dermis (that’s the inner layer of skin) to show evidence of their hard work.
The young bucks on New Moon obviously don’t suffer from this problem. Their abs are the work of, well, work outs, as Kellan Lutz recently told Seventeen magazine.
“I love to swim. I’m a fish, I have a pool in my backyard so every morning I will go swimming, even when it’s colder I’ll try to,” he said.
Kellan also wears a pedometer as a motivator, using it to track how far he walks each day and how many calories he burns, and even recommends doing push-ups and crunches while watching television.
Lutz also claims that his co-stars abs are 100 percent real.
“Taylor been training Rob a lot, and that’s why he’s got such ripped abs,” Lutz told New York Daily News of Lautner’s effort to shape his body. “Rob’s been working hard. He’s trying to be the best he can be.”
