Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston exchange verbal stabs at one another, with Palin calling Johnston “desperate for attention” for posing fully nude in Playgirl.
Sarah Palin had some fightin’ words for Levi Johnston after he said a little too much during his interview on The Early Show Wednesday.
Johnston appeared on the show to talk about his upcoming Playgirl spread. The photo shoot was originally going to feature Johnston in his skivvies, but has been revised to “full frontal.”
But, Johnston says it will still be tasteful. “Posing for Playgirl, a lot of people are going to look at it as not [presenting] a good image, but we’re going to do it tastefully,” he told the Early Show host.
He also said that he knows things that could hurt Sarah Palin, and also claimed that she refers to her infant son with Down syndrome as “retarded.”
Palin shot back in a press statement, saying people should check the motives of someone like Johnston: “We, like many, are appalled at the inflammatory statements being made or implied. Trig is our ‘blessed little angel’ who knows it and is lovingly called that every day of his life. Those who would sell their body for money reflect a desperate need for attention and are likely to say and do anything for even more attention.”
Johnston has said he did not do anything surgically to enhance his body for the shoot, such as get liposuction, or pec implants. Instead, he began a strict workout regimen consisting of dieting and hitting the gym 6 days a week.
