Stephanie Pratt Blames DUI On Her Heels

Stephanie Pratt blames her shoes for her DUI, but the breathalyzer indicated otherwise. Both breathalyzers, that is. Is The Hills actress taking her DUI seriously?

Stephanie Pratt The HillsStephanie Pratt is changing her tune: she says she wasn’t pulled over for impaired driving — it was for the tint on her windows. She also says she was sober at the traffic stop, and would have passed her sobriety test if it weren’t for her 3-inch heeled boots.

However, the state contends Pratt failed two breathalyzer tests. Pratt pleaded not guilty on account of the heels and will face up to six months in prison and a $1,000 fine if convicted. However, her attorney Jon Bryant Artz is fighting for 30-day stint in live-in rehab, to avoid driving until she gets a valid license and to refrain from drinking to remain free on her own recognizance.

“She’s trying one day at a time to do the right thing in respects to her life and facing whatever issues she may have,” Artz tells E!News. “She’s taking this case very seriously, and she’s taking the issue of alcohol very seriously.”

Pratt says the experience was a “blessing in disguise” and that jail just may have scared her straight. After all, there were bugs. “It was probably my fifth hour in jail, when cockroaches were on the floor,” she tells E! News. “I was there for like nine hours.”

Another drawback of jail? No smuggling in her Juvederm fixes. In the last year, Pratt has been rumored to have had lip injections, a nose job and breast augmentation.  Although the reality star isn’t talking about whether the show made her self-conscious enough to get a surgical fix, she has said she has struggled with self-esteem issues and bulimia, and that being a reality star forced her to deal with it.

” ‘The Hills’ did not make me bulimic,” she told MTV News. “It was my own issues with self-esteem, and if anything, my life on ‘The Hills’ has only helped me get healthy, ’cause I know how lucky I am to have this job and to have the chance to be a role model.”
