Thanksgiving ham hits Paula Deen in the face. Fortunately the famous chef had no injuries, and later tweeted about the incident.
That’s what happens when you try to do something nice.
Celebrity chef Paula Deen was in Atlanta, helping to load a truck for Hosea Feed the Hungry, when someone tried to toss Deen a ham. Unfortunately, the host wasn’t looking, and the ham hit her square in the face.
Video of the incident hit video sites like YouTube hard, but has since been removed for copyright violations. In the video, Deen is seen tossing hams to fellow workers. Deen says one of the workers said “Back at ya,” and then she turned around and got a ham to the face. Then Deen grabs her face and runs out of the picture.
Deen told Atlanta’s WGCL-TV, “I thought it busted my lip, but it didn’t. I’m OK. It just knocked me for a little bit.”
Later, the Food Network Star posted on her Twitter site, “I haven’t met the ham that could stop me yet!”
Deen’s face has been of interest as long as she’s had her own show, with many fans wondering if chemical peels or maybe even a facelift has kept her complexion so fresh. But, the only thing fake about Deen’s face, as it turns out, is her eyelashes. She told Allure magazine that she “wouldn’t take out the trash without ‘em.”
In fact, Deen says cooking plays a big part in her beauty ritual of daily steam treatments. “The thing that has helped my skin more than anything is being in my kitchen, constantly looking down into deep, hot pots,” explains Deen. “The steam and heat keep my pores clean.” That, and $350 skin cream by Chanel, the chef dishes.
