Whitney Port and Freddie Fackelmayer have split after a three-month jaunt. Port told sources it’s hard to keep love alive when the cameras won’t go away.

Whitney Port and ex-boyfriend Freddie FackelmayerFreddie Fackelmayer and Whitney Port have shoved off to Splitsville after a three-month romance. Port, star of the MTV reality series The City, told People.com the breakup was precipitated by constant media attention.

“It’s really hard to have a relationship on camera because you have so many opinions coming in and out, and it takes away some of the mystery in a relationship,” she said. “But I don’t necessarily think that it’s a curse. I think there are some relationships that had to have lasted.”

In the celebrity world, some last and some don’t, just like everywhere else. But, celebrities do have extra pressure, courtesy of the constant attention from media. Today’s media never sleeps, and it relentlessly fuels the online tank with information about celebrity relationships, their career highs and lows … and cosmetic surgery.

Plastic surgery can help stars stay in tip-top shape, so they can run with the pack. Get the surgery — and the media notices. Get a botched surgery — and the media may chase you.

Port herself was the focus of a January 2009 MakeMeHeal.com report about a possible breast augmentation. Speculation that she had breast implants began when more noticeable images of Port’s cleavage started to surface, including shots of Whit in a barely-there bikini at the beach. But plastic surgeons Dr. John Di Saia and Dr. Jennifer Walden agreed that based on pictures, Port hadn’t had her breasts enlarged.

“They look too small to be implanted,” Dr. Di Saia said.

Dr. Walden concurred. “It doesn’t appear as though Whitney Port has had any sort of breast implant surgery,” she told MakeMeHeal.com. “She appears to have a very natural look to her breasts with little upper pole fullness, and a bit of glandular ptosis, which just means they fall naturally.”

Cosmetic surgery or not, Port — and her relationships — will have long road ahead beneath the spotlight.
