Plastic surgery can help moms reclaim the body they had before childbirth, so they feel sexy and feminine again. No longer reserved for the rich, “Mommy Makeovers” are fast becoming popular among middle class women. In this episode of Plastic Surgery Talk, Dr. James Namnoum and Dr. Christine Petti explain what is — and isn’t — possible to achieve with plastic surgery after pregnancy.
From tummy tucks and liposuction to breast lifts and laser treatments, more and more middle class moms are opting for plastic surgery post-pregnancy to get back the body they had before kids came into the picture. In fact, many plastic surgeons are now offering “Mommy Makeover” packages, where patients can choose from a sort of a la carte menu of procedures to address specific body parts, and help them regain a sense of confidence in their appearance.
Mommy Makeovers can undo what months of pregnancy, breast feeding and plain old gravity can do to a body — even years after the fact. Of course, although plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular, these cosmetic procedures aren’t necessarily a cure-all. Patients should know what types of changes are both feasible and safe before deciding to undergo surgery.
Mommy Makeover experts Dr. James Namnoum and Dr. Christine Petti join host Dr. William P. Adams, Jr. in this episode of Plastic Surgery Talk to discuss different ways that women can reclaim their pre-pregnancy figure, from non-surgical solutions like sexy shapewear to procedures like breast lifts and SmartLipo. The doctors also answer questions from a group of moms on everything from stretchmarks and “bat wings” to when it’s safe to have surgery after breastfeeding.
