George Clooney Movies Pack Fall Season

George Clooney movies are flooding theaters in fall 2009, with the star teaming up with some premier directors. How does Clooney remain in such high demand?

clooney1George Clooney’s exposure is at an all time high this fall, with The Men Who Stare at Goats, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Up In The Air set for holiday season releases.

Fox casts Clooney’s voice in an animated comedy directed by Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums) and based on the children’s book by Roald Dahl (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Goats, an oddball Dr. Strangelove-type political satire, pits him with fellow actors Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges – all in a band of “warrior-monks” who claim they can end the Iraq war with psychic powers.  Air, a comedy-drama directed by Jason Reitman (Juno), casts him as a human resources specialist who makes a living traveling around America and firing people.

He’s also set to make The Descendants with Sideways director Alexander Payne. It stars Clooney as a man who drags his two daughters on a quest to track down his wife’s lover. Production starts February 2010.

Clooney, now 48, doesn’t seem to be anywhere near a stopping point in being the choice for leading male roles. He’s certainly gone heavily gray on top – a bit prematurely, some might add – and was rumored to have had eyelid surgery to stay youthful in other areas.

That rumor turned out to be a joke he started himself. He also recently told the World Entertainment News Network he doesn’t mind aging at all.

“I love my gray hair,” Clooney said. “I love the fact that my face has more of an edge and more character than it did when I was in my twenties or thirties. No Botox for me.”
