Gisele Bundchen, supermodel and wife to football player Tom Brady, gave birth to her first child on December 8–a baby boy, as yet unnamed.
Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, became a mother for the first time December 8 – giving birth to a boy yet to be named.
“We haven’t really chosen one yet,” Brady told Contactmusic.com.
The son is Brady’s second; his first is Jack, a two-year-old he has with actress and model Bridget Moynahan. They dated from 2004 through 2006, and there was some controversy when the couple split around the time she got pregnant. Moynahan is currently a single mother. Interestingly, when Brady and Bundchen married in February 2009, she attended the ceremony with infant Jack.
“I wish them the best with their baby,” Moynahan said about the new birth. “I’m sure my son will enjoy having a half-sibling.”
Bundchen and Moynahan now have two things in common: Both have sired a son with the same pro quarterback, and both are slender models with post-pregnancy figure issues. Given their image-driven careers, models often have plastic surgery before they ever become mothers — including liposuction and breast augmentation — and frequently have work done afterward, since there’s an urgency to return to form and stay there.
The “mommy makeover” has gained tremendous popularity in recent years, not only among models but with middle class women, as well. Breast lifts, tummy tucks and liposuction can become very important after giving birth, even among women whose lives don’t revolve around looking good in public.
Moynahan doesn’t have any confirmed connection to any procedures before or after her pregnancy, and Dr. Anthony Youn’s celebrity blog includes a 2008 quote from Bundchen denying any time under the knife–and denying any desire for it.
“No way,” she said. “Actually, I asked my mother the very same question and she said, ‘It’s taken me 58 years for me to look like this. You think I’m going to ruin it now?’ She looks great, so I hope I will look the same.”
She almost surely will. But now that Bundchen has given birth for the first time, she may soon choose plastic surgery to get her back on the path to graceful aging.
