Heidi Montag’s plastic surgeries, her mental state and her futureCelebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew Pinsky weighs in with a professional opinion.
After undergoing 12 procedures in two years, Heidi Montag says she still isn’t finished, and wants even larger breasts. She says she won’t stop until she’s an “H for Heidi.” This despite her husband’s pleas that her body can’t take any more enhancements.
Montag told Access Hollywood, “He tried to stop me and he said, ‘What if you ruin everything? You’re so beautiful, you don’t need anything, you didn’t need surgery before. I just told him, you know, this is what I want to do. At the end of the day, this is my body. He cried when I went under, he was very upset.”
Montag also says that after spending nearly $2 million to produce her own album and $30,000 on plastic surgery, she is broke.
Dr. Drew Pinsky, who has appeared in medical-help themed shows such as Loveline and Celebrity Rehab, says this is likely not the end of Montag’s obsession.
“My thoughts are [the surgeries are] outlandish,” Drew told RadarOnline.com. “I can’t believe a physician would put somebody through that. I don’t understand. Heidi clearly has body image issues, she clearly has significant emotional – let’s call them issues – issues about self worth, issues about emotional regulation.”
Despite her financial state, Dr. Drew says he thinks Montag will want more done. “But what I call this is female cross dressing. In other words a woman that over accentuates her femaleness – who becomes a Barbie doll – that always really concerns me. That suggests some significant trauma.”
He also says her surgical obsession will not bode well for her marriage. “I think the first you are going to see is the destabilization of the relationship between her and Spencer – that’s the first thing you’re going to see – that relationship is going to unwind.
“I don’t know how so, how it plays out, it’s always different, but usually when this kind of thing goes on the primary relationship unwinds. And then we will see what comes next.”
Montag told People that she wanted more surgery and that she was “already planning” the next one, but more recently told Access Hollywood that she had “had enough surgery for now.”
