Jessica Simpson may still be licking her wounds after getting the boot from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, but it’s nothing a little retail therapy can’t fix! Still, even big celebrities have their spending limits – at least that’s what VH1 is telling Miss Simpson, who has come under criticism for her lavish lifestyle during production of the network’s upcoming docu-series, The Price of Beauty.
The 28-year-old singer will star in the new show, scheduled to air sometime next year — that is, if there is any budget left. According to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle, Simpson spends $25,000 an episode just on her hair and make-up alone. It seems in Jessica’s world it costs a pretty penny to be beautiful. Numerous gossip columns and tabloids have deemed her the next J.Lo, with extravagant spending habits that put to shame the now-dethroned credit card queen.
“She insists on using her own hair, makeup and fashion stylists, who are more expensive than J.Lo’s,” a source told New York gossip column Page Six.
On The Price of Beauty, Jessica sets out to travel the globe to see what the rest of the world considers beautiful. She shared her feelings about the show in a recent interview with US Weekly, stating, “I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect. I am really looking forward to discovering how beauty is perceived in different cultures and participating in some of the crazy things people do to feel beautiful.”
The VH1 blog offers added commentary on the details of Simpson’s journey. Promises one post: “Jessica will study the local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participate in some of the extreme practices she discovers.”
This begs the question: Will Simpson go under the knife for any of these extreme experiments? Jess is no stranger to interesting cosmetic procedures. In 2007, she received Restylane lip injections, and then told People magazine that she regretted the procedure.
“I looked like a blowfish,” she said, adding that her lips looked fine the way they were. (Although she reportedly had them redone recently.)
In the August 2007 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Jessica denied any serious cosmetic surgeries, insisting, “My boobs are real!” When questioned about the future, she answered vaguely that she would consider a breast lift after having kids, if her ample bosom started to sag.
Of course, Jessica’s sister, Ashlee Simpson, is no stranger to plastic surgery. After first denying having work done, Ashlee fessed up to a nose job in 2006, and recent photos raise speculation about a chin implant and lip injections.
Regardless of what route Jessica chooses to take, The Price of Beauty is sure to be a wild ride with iconic blonde moments and memorable Jess mishaps.

If she believes that beauty comes from within, Why would she spend $25,000 for hair and makeup? Again this just goes to show how fake she really is. Which by the way if that is what she pays then she IS NOT getting her money’s worth….
