Jon and Kate’s money troubles begin litigation. Jon Gosselin, who had reportedly taken $180,000 from a joint account shared with wife Kate, has been ordered to return the money by October 26.
Jon Gosselin may soon be $180,000 short – if he obeys a Pennsylvania judge and returns the loot.
Jon, former co-star of TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, was recently accused by estranged wife Kate Gosselin of taking $180,000 from their joint bank account after their separation, leaving her with almost nothing. And now, a Pennsylvania court has ordered Jon Gosselin to return this amount to the account by October 26, or face contempt charges.
The money was allegedly taken in violation of a divorce arbitrator’s orders. Jon Gosselin’s lawyer Mark Heller told US Magazine on October 11 that his client would “take the high road” and stay quiet about his side of the case.
At this point, however, the situation is pleasing to his soon-to-be ex.
“As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children,” People.com quoted Kate Gosselin. “Now this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues.”
In the meantime, as many know, Kate will carry the show altogether, which set to be re-titled Kate Plus Eight.
The show’s new structure occurred in light of Jon leaving the show – a move reportedly in light of falling rating, which were supposedly a result of his alleged infidelities. Several sources linked him to shenanigans with family nanny Stephanie Santoro – currently, Jon Gosselin is in an open relationship with Hailey Glassman. Jon’s new girl also happens to be the daughter of the plastic surgeon who gave Kate Gosselin her tummy tuck.
Dating a girl whose father makes his money through plastic surgery is probably a canny move for Jon Gosselin. If the courtroom gets its way on October 26, this chap is sure to find himself short of funds.
