Julia Roberts Named as Lancome’s New Spokesperson

Julia Roberts, the original “pretty woman,” has been chosen to represent Lancome cosmetics. But, is Roberts’ beauty still all natural?

julia_robertsJulia Roberts is the original “pretty woman,” so it’s no surprise she has been chosen by beauty giant Lancôme to represent the line in 2010.

“Her exceptional talent, her radiance and her strong commitments perfectly echo Lancôme’s values. We are convinced she will embody the brand in the most sublime way possible,” said Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International, in a statement.

Roberts is following in the footsteps of actresses such as Isabella Rossellini, Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, and Juliette Binoche.

At age 41, Roberts says she has had no work done, and credits her husband with keeping her looking young. “The key to beauty is always to be looking at someone who loves you, really,” she told Allure Magazine.

But she has had her challenges with plastic surgery: In the movie Charlie Wilson’s War, Roberts played a 50-year-old Texas socialite, who was “very open” about how much work she had done. The actress admitted it was a challenge making that come across on screen.

“I wanted to look as much like Joanne Herring as I could,” she told The Independent while promoting the film.  “I was trying to do things with my face to make it appear as though I was 50 but had had some work done. I wore different tapes under my wig and tried to pull my face in different ways. It was challenging, it really was.”

Roberts recently wrapped filming of Eat, Pray, Love, which comes out in 2010.
