Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom seal the deal with matching ink. But, they aren’t the first famous pair to show their love in a tattoo.
After just a month of dating Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom tied the knot, and eventually reached a prenuptial agreement. Now the couple has gotten matching tattoos after just over a month of marriage.
“Saturday night Lamar and I were eating at Sunset Plaza and I just said, ‘Let’s go to Tattoo Mania! I want a tattoo,’ said Khloe on her blog. “I think the best tattoo experiences are the spontaneous ones, because that way you are not only left with the tattoo, but an amazing memory to go along with it!”
She continues, “When we were at dinner, I just knew I wanted a tattoo for Lamar in the web of my hand, and then once we got to the shop we decided on getting each other’s initials. I got ‘LO’ in cursive on my right hand and he got ‘KO’ on both hands.”
The pair isn’t the only celeb couple to make it official with ink. Denise Richards and Charlie Sheen once had his and hers tats, but after their break up, Richards has covered hers with a fairy and Sheen had his removed. Angelina Jolie covered her tattoo tribute to Billy Bob Thornton with the coordinates of her adopted children’s birthplaces. Britney Spears had the Hebrew lettering on the back of her neck removed.
Stars are using tattoo removal as a convenient way to clean up “spontaneous” tattoo experiences. Laser tattoo removal takes about six to eight treatments in a little under two years to complete, and tattoos like Lamar and Khloe’s – simple, black outlines – respond best to the laser.
But for now, Khloe is keeping the tat. Her other tattoo is “I love you” in her father’s cursive script on the inside of her wrist. She got it in August 2008.
