Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert Collide on New Album

Lady Gaga gives Adam Lambert a song to feature on his new album. But, Gaga isn’t the only famous singer to contribute to the Idol star’s debut release.

adamlambertalbumcoverThe cheesy cover of Adam Lambert’s debut album garnered much criticism until the runner-up from last season’s cycle of American Idol cleared up the confusion via Twitter.

“Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy,” Lambert wrote. “It’s a homage to the past. It IS ridiculous. For those that don’t get it: oh well…Glad to have gotten your attention. Androgyny. Rock n Roll.”

But, more important than the album cover is the massive collaboration inside. The feature track was produced by Lukasz “Dr. Luke” Gottwald, who works with Britney Spears and Katy Perry. There will also be a song written by Muse, and one by the Darkness.

Also on the album is a song by Lady Gaga, who says she had something just waiting for the right artist to come along.

“They called me. They asked me to write for him. I was actually like, ‘Geez, I got this record that I wrote a while ago.’ It’s, like, a total hit, smash record, but for some reason, like, I couldn’t get it right with me doing it, and I said, ‘Gosh, it would be perfect for him.’” Lady Gaga told KISS 106.1 Dallas.

The album drew mixed reactions from fans before Lambert’s tweets – mainly over the heavily retouched image on the front, in which Lambert appears wearing a fingerless glove and heavy eye make-up in front of a starry background. On first glance it appears Lambert may have had Botox or laser skin resurfacing to get that smooth appearance, but it’s just the magic of Photoshop.

Lambert’s album hit stores November 23.
