Lady Gaga’s tour for her new album, ‘The Fame Monster’, kicks off four days after the album release. The singer already ordered fans to learn all the lyrics.
Two weeks after the Lady Gaga’s Fame Kills Tour with Kanye West was canceled – Gaga announced her own show would hit the road November 27 as a solo act. Fame Kills was reportedly canceled because West needed to lay low after the MTV VMA Awards incident.
West interrupted 19-year-old Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Video to say that Beyonce had been robbed of the award, and afterward several other artists and fans of Swift spoke out against the rapper.
Gaga’s tour, The Monster Ball, kicks off in Montreal, and is described as an electro-pop opera. The accompanying album, The Fame Monster, will come out prior to the tour, Gaga said in a press release. “A message to all my little monsters: ‘The Fame Monster’ will come out four days before the first live show. You have exactly 96 hours to learn all of the lyrics so you can sing along. Dress accordingly.”
Dressing accordingly is something Lady Gaga is not known for–rather, the songstress delights in rarely wearing pants, donning odd hats, and sporting coats made out of things such as Kermit pelts. But to her, it’s all a part of being famous.
“I think there’s different kinds of fame,” she told The Guardian in an interview earlier this year. “I think there’s ‘fame’, which is plastic and you can buy it on the street, and paparazzi and money and being rich, and then there’s ‘the fame’, which is when no one knows who you are but everybody wants to know who you are.”
It’s safe to say Gaga is already familiar with the “plastic” kind of fame. She is rumored to have had breast implants and a nose job to fix an “overly Italian” nose, according to some blogs. (Photos of the singer from early in her career lend credence to the rhinoplasty rumors.) Then, of course, there is the rampant speculation that Lady Gaga isn’t a lady at all, but the singer has declined to comment on that. “My beautiful vagina is offended,” was all she said in an interview with an Australian radio station.
Rapper and protégé of West, Kid Cudi, will open for Lady Gaga on the tour.
