Dr. Calobrace is considered one of the new leaders in the field of cosmetic breast surgery, he has accumulated a vast experience over the last decade, performing over 400 breast surgeries a year. He has participated in four FDA clinical breast studies (Mentor Adjunct, 410 gel, Allergan and Mentor Post-approval) and is a consultant and lecturer for both Mentor and Allergan.

Over the past 15 years he has acquired a large saline and silicone breast implant experience and has a focused interest in complex revisional breast surgery and augmentation mastopexy. Dr. Calobrace is a graduate of Indiana University Medical School and completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Subsequently, he completed a cosmetic and breast surgery fellowship at the Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell prior to entering into private practice in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. He is a gratis clinical faculty member with the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, at the University of Louisville and received teaching honors in 2007 for his participation in the plastic surgery residency program. He has established himself as a leader in cosmetic surgery in Louisville and recently received recognition in Louisville Magazine as one of Louisville’s “Top Docs” and “Best of Louisville”. Dr. Calobrace is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Kentucky Society of Plastic Surgeons, and American College of Surgeons.

He has a thriving cosmetic surgery practice, performing approximately 1000 major cosmetic procedures each year, including facial surgery, body contouring, breast surgery, hair transplantation and post-bariatric rejuvenation. Dr. Calobrace was highly involved in the introduction of ultrasonic-assisted fellowship at the Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell prior to entering into private practice in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. He is a gratis clinical faculty member with the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, at the University of Louisville and received teaching honors in 2007 for his participation in the plastic surgery residency program. Dr. Calobrace was highly involved in the introduction of ultrasonic-assisted liposuction in the United States, lecturing extensively and authoring multiple articles and a chapter on UAL. Dr. Calobrace continues to be a leader in non-surgical cosmetic procedures, as well. He recently established CaloSpaMD, an innovative medical spa concept, and opened a 16,000 square foot facility combining his cosmetic surgery practice, surgical center, and comprehensive medical spa. He is an Allergan consultant, conducting roundtable discussions and injectable training sessions. He also participated in the Juvederm experimental trials, is a member of the National Educational Faculty for Botox, a faculty member for CME Scholar on the subject of injectables, and is a luminary for the Syneron Corporation.
