Photographs of the scars would be helpful in giving you a more specific answer but in general we have many options to improve scars from previous surgery such as you had. A complete evaluation would include assessment of your abdominal wall muscle and fascia to see if those structures need any attention and then an assessment of the involved skin and subcutaneous tissue. Without seeing the size, orientation, number and quality of the scars involved it is impossible to give you a better answer. However, in general, we can make real worthwhile improvements in cases such as yours. Seek out a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area and let him or her have a look.

One more thing of importance. Your cystic fibrosis as an underlying medical condition should and will be discussed by your surgeon and your pulmonary physician to assess your condition and risk for any proposed surgery. Of course, it is imperative the risks and benefits be weighed to assure you are able to safely undergo any proposed procedures.
