The Plastic Surgery Channel presents its special coverage of the Plastic Surgery 2009 conference in Seattle, including interviews with doctors from across the globe addressing the latest hot topics in plastic surgery, from using an injectable gel for breast augmentation to new non-invasive procedures for fat removal.
The Plastic Surgery Channel is setting up a satellite studio in the exhibit hall at Plastic Surgery 2009, the annual meeting of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), October 23 – 27 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle.
The channel will feature interviews with doctors from across the globe who are presenting at the conference as part of its Special Coverage series, which will be broadcast online over the next several weeks. In addition, throughout the conference, the channel will air a daily wrap-up show hosted by Deanne Moore and Dr. William P. Adams, Jr., featuring guest surgeons commenting on the highlights of the meeting.
The 2009 Plastic Surgery Conference brings together more than 300 companies from the medical industry, as well as surgeons from around the globe, who will be attending panel discussions, educational sessions and roundtable meetings to explore the latest research and trends in the field. The closing session will feature the Honorable William H. Frist, MD, a recognized heart and lung transplant surgeon, with an address on the Future of Healthcare in America.
Hot topics at this year’s conference include the use of Macrolane injections for breast and buttock augmentation, clinical data on Purtox (a potential competitor to Botox Cosmetic); the effect of autologous fat transfer on breast cancer rates; new fat subtraction techniques, like Zeltique and Zerona; and the FDA’s recent approval of Pelleve, a skin-tightening treatment designed to eradicate mild wrinkles.
The Plastic Surgery Channel is the first online television network devoted exclusively to “edu-tainment” programming about cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. The channel features several regular programs, as well as a growing library of educational videos, featuring board certified plastic surgeons. The channel will show highlights from the conference throughout the weekend, and will air interviews with noted doctors and industry thought-leaders taped at the conference throughout the month of November.
