Salma Hayek is known for her top-shelf looks, but she generally begs to differ with claims that she has “a good body.”
Unless it’s all an act, actress Salma Hayek gets points for modesty. She is less impressed with herself than a majority of the population, and didn’t mind discussing that with Parade.com.
“I won a ‘Best Body Award’ from Fitness magazine and I was too embarrassed to accept it,” she told Parade.com. “I actually don’t have a good body, but if everybody thinks so, I guess it means I’m a good actress. I have acted the part of the girl who has a very good body. If you know how to dress, there are some tricks you can pull.”
In Hayek’s latest movie Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant, she pulls a new trick we hadn’t expected from her. In this one, she plays a circus attraction – attractive in her usual way until a key point, where she becomes the bearded lady.
“I haven’t had this much facial hair since I had those fuzzy eyebrows in Frida,” she said. “Everybody said, ‘Oh, my God. You look so hot with the beard.’ It’s like when people tell you, ‘You look gorgeous,’ when you are pregnant. You are like a swollen whale and never looked worse in your life. And somebody goes, ‘You’re glowing.’ They don’t have the courage to tell you how bad you look.”
It can’t be often that Hayek actually looks bad. But, it does appear that she has undergone plastic surgery to look so good. MakeMeHeal.com provided comparison photos in 2006 that made it clear she has had breast augmentation and a rhinoplasty.
Her cleavage is appreciably bigger in one photo – and there is a visible difference in the shape of her nose. In fact, MakeMeHeal.com put her in their top ten 2007 list for best celebrity breast implants.
Hayek’s modesty is refreshing, but then, she doesn’t have to make much effort in being positive about her looks. Just about everyone else who has seen Hayek can do it for her.
