Just three weeks after accidentally-on-purpose leaking pictures of herself posing in sexy swimwear at a recent fashion shoot on Twitter before the shoot was even over, Kim Kardashian tweeted her way into hot water this week while on board a flight to LA.

Accessing Twitter at 30,000 feet through the airline’s on-board Internet service, the infamous Kim K. tweeted, “I’m on the airplane…love wifi! I am sitting next to an Air Marshall [sic]! Jim the air marshall makes me feel safe!”

Fans were quick to respond, and chastise the reality TV beauty for blowing her seat-mate’s cover.

According to the Transportation Security Administration website, the job of a Federal Air Marshal is “to detect, deter, and defeat hostile acts targeting U.S. air carriers, airports, passengers, and crews.” For security purposes, they are supposed to keep their identity concealed — and Kim insists hers did.

“I am just a private eye & assumed, so I asked him and he was honest!” she tweeted in response to comments from fans.

The brunette bombshell is adept at using social media tools to capture the public’s attention, as evidenced by her recent Twitter posts that included pictures of herself in a slinky almost-one-piece and a tiger-print bikini at a photo shoot.

“HOT HOT HOT! Not even retouched yet!,” she tweeted with glee about the new pics. And, hot they were. The photos showed off Kardashian’s hourglass figure adorned with little more than a few strips of spandex, and undoubtedly set her male admirers into a Twitter forwarding frenzy.

Kim has long insisted that her curves are all-natural, which may very well be true. But, women who lack the same level of bootiliciousness have been inspired by stars like Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez to undergo cosmetic surgery, including breast and buttock augmentation.

Dr. Lane Smith, a board certified plastic surgeon in Las Vegas, notes that he has seen an increase in requests for buttock implants from women wanting to achieve a more well rounded look. He explains that women who want a bigger booty can opt for silicone implants or a “Brazilian Butt Lift” where a doctor removes fat tissue from one part of the body, and injects it into the buttock.

Although Kim denies having ever gone under the knife, she admits she will follow in her sister Kourtney’s footsteps and get a breast augmentation in the future, after she has kids. As for what other cosmetic surgery she would undergo? She’s not sure, but tells Us Magazine, “I think every woman needs a good lift after they have kids, so I would start with that. You never know what I would need–it depends on what I would look like when I get older. But I would definitely do something.”

Maybe J Lo should lay off the Twitter–after tweeting to Ryan Seacrest and Kim Kardashian on her new Twitter account that she was trying to figure out the service between spending time at in the studio and at American Music Award rehearsals, Jennifer Lopez took a tumble live onstage at the AMAs.

The fall happened as Lopez was walking up the backs of her back-up dancers, who had arranged themselves in a stair-step formation. While holding the hand of another dancer, Lopez climbed to the top of the formation and then jumped down. Instead of landing on her Louboutins, Lopez landed on her rear.

A statement from ABC indicated that Dick Clark Productions, the group that produced the show, edited out the footage voluntarily. “Due to the live nature of the show, we did not expect the impromptu moment in question. Regarding Jennifer Lopez, execs and producers felt it was respectful to Ms. Lopez to edit the mishap for later time zones.”

Does the slip mean J Lo is past her prime? Probably not. Plastic surgeon Dr. Ricardo Rodruiguez says on his site that “Jennifer Lopez has done for the rear end what Pamela Anderson has done for the front end.”

And, a January 2009 survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery agrees, saying “The rear of actress Jennifer Lopez is rated No. 1 by plastic surgeons’ patients seeking to remake their buttocks.”

A source from backstage did say that Jenny from the Block was furious about the mishap–but only at herself. “She walked off the stage absolutely fuming,” an unnamed insider told Fox News. “She was so upset, and ready to kill. Jennifer was a perfectionist about that performance and practiced hard.”

Kim Kardashian made headlines again recently because of her break-up with NFL running back Reggie Bush. But, for many of her fans, Kim’s love life takes a back seat to her – well, her back seat.

The paparazzi continue to focus on Kim’s ample derriere, which some plastic surgeons say has turned the tides for fashionistas struggling to stay slim, and actually has women turning to buttock implants to achieve a more well-rounded look.

Dr. Lane Smith, a plastic surgeon in Las Vegas, said he has seen an increase in requests for buttock augmentation, thanks to stars like Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez, who have more junk in their trunk.

Dr. Smith noted that women who want a bigger booty can either get silicone implants or have a “Brazilian Butt Lift,” where a doctor takes fat tissue from one part of the body and injects it further down south.

Of course, you can always just eat a dozen donuts and hope the fat lands in the right place. But unless you’re lucky enough to have Kim Kardashian’s DNA, odds are you’re just going to need liposuction.

Approaches to Buttock Augmentation

There are two primary approaches to performing buttock augmentation.

•    Implants – Implants add padding to the buttocks through the surgical placement of a non-leaking substance called elastomer. Implants necessitate an incision somewhere above the muscles of the butt seat, typically at the area where the hind part of the thigh meets the butt cheeks. The incision leaves only a faint scar after about 12 months following surgery.

•    Fat Transplant –Also known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift” or fat injections, a fat transplant uses fat from other areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, back, or thighs, through liposuction. The fat is then inserted through small incisions into different layers of the buttocks.  Many injections may be required, at different depths, and in many regions of the buttocks, depending on how much augmentation is desired by the patient. Many patients prefer this method because it is more natural than implants and there is no risk of the body rejecting the fat cells.

Recovery
Any pain or discomfort felt after a buttock augmentation is usually relieved by painkillers. Patients are able to sit down directly after surgery and can return to work after 5-7 days. Those with fat grafts will need to wear a compression garment for 1-2 weeks after the procedure. Physicians may also recommend postoperative massage and ultrasound treatments.

Risks
The primary risk occurs with the fat transplant; with this procedure there is a 30 percent chance the fat will be absorbed within six to eight weeks after the surgery, and many patients will require a second transplant. Many patients will also require minor touch ups to correct asymmetrical buttocks or irregular shaping.  Other risks can include bleeding, fluid collection, infection, scarring, and asymmetrical buttocks.

Before deciding on a surgery, you should determine your goals, the size and shape you desire, and the type of augmentation you want by discussing all the options with your surgeon. You should know all the benefits, as well as all the risks and complications that may occur.
