The hairiest man on Earth is set to undergo plastic surgery after failing an acting audition.

32-year-old Yu Zhenghuan is covered with hair over 96 percent of his body. The condition is said to be the result of a hormone imbalance.

Zhenghuan recently auditioned for the lead part of a talking monkey in a television production of the Chinese classic Journey to the West. He had the hair, he noted, and he’d even played a monkey boy in a movie when he was only seven years old. But Zhenghaun told reporters he didn’t get the lead part because the director didn’t think he was attractive enough.

So now, the Chinese native plans to undergo several procedures to remove the hair from his body – plus plastic surgery to change the size of his eyes, nose and lips. He says he wants to prove he has acting talent and doesn’t need to look like a monkey to win a role.

Well go get ‘em, Mr. Zhenghuan.
