Test Drive a Breast Implant Size
Women who are considering breast augmentation now have a way to “test drive” implants before visiting a surgeon.
At the May 2009 Aesthetics Meeting of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Allergan officially debuted its Natrelle Pre-consultation Kit to the medical community.
The kit is designed to educate potential patients about breast augmentation, while allowing them to try different breast sizes in the privacy of their homes.
Natrelle’s preconsultation kit includes sample implants, a profile bra, and an educational DVD that includes footage of a consultation, before and after photos, and topics to discuss with your surgeon.
There’s even an online feature that offers stories of women who have had breast implants– most likely with Allergan products, but also with information that is useful to consumers.
Although it is intended to prepare women for a consultation with their plastic surgeon, the question remains whether this format will provide meaningful information to potential breast augmentation patients.
