The Hills actress Lauren Conrad is being replaced by an ex-enemy, and to be “in with the in” it looks like a little plastic surgery may be in order!
Lauren Conrad, star of the MTV reality cult fave, The Hills, has decided to leave the show to pursue other endeavors. Not only has she broken the hearts of adoring fans everywhere, she is being replaced by an ex enemy of hers.
Set to replace LC is none other than Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach fame. Conrad and Cavallari went to Laguna Beach high school, and let’s just say the two didn’t get along. Celeb news sites and tabloid mags are a flitter with tasty tidbits about the swap, and the buzz probably won’t die down for a while.
Interestingly, the switcharoo isn’t the juiciest gossip making the rounds. Apparently to be “in with the in” — that is, in with the Hills girls — you gotta get some work done.
Several girls on the show have allegedly (or definitely) gone under the knife for cosmetic surgery. Even star fashionista Lauren, who claims to be plastic surgery free, may have had some minor work done.
In a report on MakeMeHeal.com, plastic surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif commented, “After looking at several photos of Lauren Conrad, it does seem that in some photos her nose looks smaller and a little pinched. It looks as if she has a little asymmetry in her nasal dorsum and her nasal tip appears to be a little smaller. Her nose appears to look a little bit bulbous in one photo. So I think she might possibly have had a slight rhinoplasty, a very soft rhinoplasty.” Who knows?
The other dazzling divas are a different story. Lauren’s ex-best friend, with whom she recently had a “frienaissance”, is quite a fan of the cosmetic surgeon’s office. Heidi Montag-Pratt, a.k.a. The Hills outcast, has had multiple plastic surgeries and been very open about them. Heidi, who has undergone a rhinoplasty (nose job) and breast augmentation, claims she chose the procedures because of her low self-esteem.
“I’m not ashamed of what I do in my life. It’s not like let’s get plastic surgery for fun, it was something that was really painful and tormenting for me throughout my life,” Pratt explained to People Magazine. Heidi also described the teasing she endured post-puberty for having a “flat-as-a-board” chest, and her “huge” nose, that she claims she got from her Dad.
“Whatever women need to do to feel sexy, they should do!” she said, proudly proclaiming that plastic surgery is a personal decision.
Brunette beauty Audrina Patridge (now making the scene as an almost-blonde) also is a constant target for celebrity plastic surgery rumors. Patridge, Conrad’s previous roommate, sparked the gossip when nude pics of her popped up online. The photos indicated a possible breast augmentation.
MakeMeHeal.com commentator Dr. John Di Saia examined pictures of Audrina and said, “Very likely breast implants have been placed probably at least a year prior to the images being taken.”
Apparently Audrina thinks otherwise. She recently told Extra, “People think I’ve got my nose done and my chin done. I just laugh at it, I’m just losing my baby fat – everyone grows up and changes.”
Still, insiders believe Audrina’s breasts reveal the tell-tale signs of augmentation, sitting high and firm on her chest, and maintaining their shape when her arms are raised instead of flattening out. Deep cleavage and separation of the breasts also indicate that implants may have come into play.
Obviously it costs a pretty penny (and mucho pain) if you want to be a Hills honey. Even Lauren’s foe Kristin has generated some cosmetic controversy. (See related story below.) With the continued pressures of the Hollywood media machine — and continued cast changes undoubtedly in the mix — odds are this isn’t the last time rumors will swirl concerning the Hills girls’ penchant for plastic surgery. But, for now, “life is still unwritten.”
