The Hills Stephanie Pratt checked into rehab this week. Pratt may sober up, but she’ll also have to pay some fines – and possibly serve jail time if convicted.
Just weeks after her DUI stop, which Stephanie Pratt said was actually due to some illegally tinted windows and high-heeled boots, Pratt is now checking into rehab.
The Hills Star pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor DUI Friday, and agreed to check into a 30-day residential rehab program.
Pratt insisted after the stop and her 9-hour jail stay that she had been pulled over due to her dark windows–not any impaired driving – and that she would have passed her sobriety test had it not been for her 3-inch heels. However, Pratt blew .08 and .09 on her breathalyzer tests. The state limit in California is .08.
Pratt told People the arrest “was the worst thing to happen to me and, at the same time, it was the biggest blessing.”
If that sounds familiar, it’s probably because the star said the same thing three years ago when she was arrested for shoplifting and drug possession in Honolulu. “Getting arrested was a blessing,” Pratt told Us Weekly of the 2006 arrest. “I don’t think I would have been able to get off drugs without that huge wake-up call.”
Pratt has also admitted to being bulimic, and while she has said her role on The Hills didn’t cause the disorder, it did play into accentuating her body issues. Tabloids have also speculated that those body issues might have been behind some recent plastic surgery for Pratt, including rhinoplasty, lip augmentation and a boob job.
Photos from Pratt at the MTV VMAs in September 2009 contrasted with earlier pictures show a thinner nose, bigger lips and cleavage. However, Pratt has not confirmed having had anything done.
If convicted of misdemeanor DUI, Pratt could face a $1,000 fine and six months of jail time.
