‘Twilight’ Series Casts Kirsten Prout for ‘Eclipse’

Twilight series casts a new member, Kirsten Prout, who will play a key role in Eclipse – the third movie in the Twilight series.

Eclipse isn’t set to release until 2010, but news is already breaking of who has been cast for the movie. Relative newcomer Kirsten Prout has been cast in the movie as Lucy. Prout is best known for her work in the ABC Family sci-fi hit Kyle XY, and also appeared with Jennifer Garner in 2005′s Elektra.

The actress won’t have to go far for filming; the movie is being shot in Prout’s hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia. Prominent cast members Ashley Greene, Xavier Samuel, Kellan Lutz and Kristen Stewart have already been spotted as they make their way around town during filming.

Absent from photographers’ frames is the notorious Edward Cullen, aka Robert Pattinson. He is one of the few cast members not on the movie’s Twitter feed, and has also complained to the media that his Twilight fame is so overwhelming that he can’t get a date.

Pattison told the Sydney Morning Herald, “I’m not the lead in the second film. Taylor [Lautner] isI’m more of a supporting role in this one, which is why I felt so free. I didn’t have to deal with any of the bulls**t of the first one. I don’t have to hold the movie or worry about the fans. I think I did it better without all those pressures.”

Pressure is one thing Pattinson may have trouble dealing with. After his modeling career ended at age 16, some say Pattinson indulged in plastic surgery to regain the spotlight, getting jaw surgery and cheek implants to look less manly and appeal to casting agents.

Does Pattinson look different now than in younger pictures? You be the judge. New Moon comes out November 20, but screaming fans will have to wait until July 30, 2010 to get a glimpse of Eclipse.
