Victoria Beckham Defends Her Figure from Anorexia Rumors

Victoria Beckham says despite her rail-thin frame, she doesn’t starve herself. But, she did learn some skinny secrets from one of her fellow Spice Girls.

Victoria BeckhamDefending herself from criticism over her razor-sharp clavicles and size-0 fashion line critics say only fits her, Victoria Beckham tells Now Magazine she has a healthy diet and doesn’t starve herself.

“I’ve been accused of not eating for 10 years. If I hadn’t eaten for 10 years, I’d be hungry I think there’s a big difference between someone having an eating disorder and someone who is controlled about what they eat. I think I could do with putting on some weight, but this is the way I am.”

However, in her 2001 autobiography, the star admitted that fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell encouraged her to run and go on liquid meal substitutes, which led to a later bout with anorexia. The spicy singer also added that being scrutinized in the media doesn’t help.

In June, British tabloids had a field day when rumors were flying that Beckham had her breast implants removed to appear even thinner. In 1999, she went from a 34A to a 34D, but denied having had surgery in a BBC interview. She later recanted in 2003, admitting she had breast augmentation.

But, when the Spice Girls reunited for their recent world tour, Beckham’s streamlined appearance had people talking once again.

“There is speculation she had her implants taken out for the tour so she can fit into the costumes without the risk of them falling out during some of the more energetic routines,” a confidential source told the UK’s Daily Mail. Other sources speculate she has changed her image to be taken seriously as a fashion designer.

The Sun, another UK paper, reported, “Victoria has wanted her implants taken out for a while. She felt that was part of her old WAG image – the big hair, big boobs, fake tan – and that she has moved on since those days.”
