Warren Beatty’s conquests come out in a new unauthorized “authorized biography,” but some are decrying the accuracy of the book.
A new biography by Peter Biskind claims Warren Beatty slept with 12,775 women. But Bertram Fields, Beatty’s attorney, says stop the presses. “Mr. Biskind’s tedious and boring book on Mr. Beatty was not authorized by Mr. Beatty and should not be published as an authorized biography,” says Fields in a statement about the book.
But Star: How Warren Beatty Seduced Americahas been published as a authorized biography.And the author says he figured how many women Beatty trysted with. “Using simple arithmetic,” author Peter Biskind calculated for the New York Post, “12,775 women, give or take, a figure that does not include daytime quickies, drive-bys, casual gropings, stolen kisses and so on.”
For Beatty’s part, he’s used to the public battering – or bolstering? – his image has taken. He chalks it up to the fact that movie actors are “over-rewarded” in American society, prompting the press to feel the need to cut them down to size. “So they come up with all sorts of wild things. They make me into an insane eccentric with an incredible fear of losing my youth, who lives in a bomb shelter, who contemplates or is going through plastic surgery, who has devastating relationships with women. It goes through cycles,” he told Time magazine in a 1978 interview.
Warren Beatty may have never considered a facelift or Botox to look younger, simply because he didn’t have to. After all, he dated Madonna after co-starring with her in Dick Tracy in 1990, when he was 63. But he does have one wrinkle-reducing secret that seems improbable given how much sex he’s allegedly had, according to the Web site for Trillium Cosmetic Surgery: “Warren Beatty is said to have not smiled (in private) for at least 20 years, in an attempt to avoid creases in his face.”
Seems like it’d be easier to just have a little Botox.
