A new program for board certified physicians puts them in the driver’s seat when it comes to running a successful medical practice. Dr. Guy Kezirian, a leader in the field of ophthalmology, was recently a guest panelist on The Plastic Surgery Channel TV show to talk about a new program that is the first of its kind, called the Physician CEO Program. In collaboration with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern State University, the program gives board certified doctors the opportunity to achieve a business degree similar to a MBA in a condensed amount of time and at a reasonable cost.

Knowledge is Power
When asked what one word best describes this new program, Kezirian says, “Empowerment. It gives physicians the skills and tools they need in a compressed and accelerated time frame that allows physicians to access that information on a schedule that works for them.”
Practical for Your Practice
This entrepreneurial program attempts to give physicians practical knowledge they can immediately implement into their practice. “We’re not training physicains to be managers, we’re training physicians to be leaders,” says Kezirian. In fact, much of the information the physician will first learn is information they can delegate to the office manager. The program can bring doctors from knowing very little about their day-to-day business operations to applying strategic financial analysis in a short amount of time.
Kezirian believes more and more physicians will soon be dealing with cash pay in their offices and will benefit greatly from the skills taught at the Physician CEO Program.
