Everyone wants to look and feel their personal best as they age. There is a continuous search for the next new development in body shaping and age defying products and procedures. That said there are many things that one can do to age gracefully. Making healthy lifestyle changes can reverse the hands of time to keep you looking and feeling your best for years to come.

Dr. Robert Grant offers some simple solutions to help maintain your body’s appearance and keep you feeling and looking great from the inside out!

Sleeping Beauty

Sleep is one of the most important gifts you can give your body. With today’s hectic lifestyles and demands from work and family, sleep is often the first thing neglected. Getting eight hours of sleep regularly, paired with a healthy diet and exercise routine can help you lose weight faster. Muscles require a proper amount of rest to recover from daily activity, this rest also promotes muscle mass increases and toning. A bonus to an increase in muscle mass is faster fat burning. Being fully rested also decreased stress related hunger and cuts down on you need to snack on sweets throughout the day for energy. Having a regular bedtime and sleep schedule and being fully rested can help you to maintain a healthy, attractive waistline.

Keep Hydrated

The human body is made up of 70% water. A human cannot go 3days without water. Drinking plenty of water flushes impurities out of your system, removes toxins improving the quality and elasticity of one’s skin, aids in proper digestion, and maintains mental clarity. Proper hydration is also important to dieting as it suppresses hunger, helps maintain healthy muscle tone, and increases energy. Water also has the added benefit of being zero calories, so drink as much as you want. Getting your appropriate daily intake of water is one of the most important things you can do for your body.

Always Use Sunscreen

An excessive amount of harmful UVA/UVB rays from the sun is one of the most common factors associated with skin damage. Sun exposure can cause wrinkling and age spots; even worse, it can also cause cancer over time. Using the correct sunscreen whenever you are going to be exposed to the sun will keep your skin looking young and healthy while protecting you from harmful side effects that can occurred from prolonged exposure.

Work with what You Have

It is common for people to look through fashion or celebrity magazines for the hottest new fashion trend, but just because it looks good on some doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you. Understand your body type and choose items that accent your best assets. Skinny jeans, for instance, may work for some people but not for others. For those who can’t pull off the skinny jean trend, choosing a wider leg pant can elongate and trim un-proportionate areas, making legs look amazing. Being realistic and working with what you have is a great way to look your best all year long.

Look Great, Feel Great!

Implementing these changes into your daily routine can not only improve your outward appearance, but also improve how you feel on the inside, both physically and mentally.
