There’s  new technology available for patients that uses radio frequency to target and remove your fat. What’s exciting is, this device doesn’t ever come in contact your skin, and there’s no pain.  This is one of the most promising new technologies I’ve seen this year. I interviewed Mona Greene, a registered nurse and sales consultant with BTL/Exilis about their new device  at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery‘s annual convention in New York.

 

Vanquish made by BTL’s Exilis represents the latest development in radio frequency. Vanquish offers patients a way to reduce fat, contact free, in about four sessions.  It’s also a non-invasive form of treatment for the reduction of wrinkles.

Patients lie underneath the device for a half hour for each session, once every two weeks.  Greene says the patient will feel warm but not to the point of feeling any pain. She says the device is tuned solely to reduce fat without affecting the skin or muscles.

There have been no significant side effects reported with the Exilis treatment except for some pinkness on the treated area that may last for about 15-30 minutes. Patients should drink more water the day of treatment and the day after, and should participate in some form of light exercise such as walking to enhance the results.
