The O Procedure: Improving Sexual Intimacy

The O Procedure: Improving Sexual Intimacy

By now you have probably heard of the G-Shot, but have you heard of the O Procedure? It’s a non-surgical treatment that dramatically increases sexual pleasure for women. Aging, childbearing and fluctuating hormones all contribute to unwanted changes down below. Common complaints among aging women include vaginal laxity, decreased sexual sensitivity and the loss of natural lubrication.

Symptoms Contributing to Declining Sexual Intimacy:

  • Vaginal Laxity
  • Decreased Sensitivity
  • Loss of Lubrication

Today women are taking back control of their sexual health. They are improving their intimate encounters with the help of vaginal rejuvenation techniques. Over the past decade, several new technologies and procedures have emerged, providing women with a variety of options. Because there are so many options available, and not all of them are safe or effective, it is extremely important to carefully select a board certified plastic surgeon who has experience with a wide variety of vaginal rejuvenation techniques.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kristi Hustak of Houston specializes in both surgical and non-surgical procedures aimed at enhancing a woman’s pleasure during sexual activity. According to Hustak, the best treatment plan for vaginal rejuvenation often combines more than one technique to produce optimal results. Hustak offers her female patients seeking non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation a combination treatment she refers to as the O Procedure.

What is the O Procedure?

The O Procedure combines an energy device – such as laser or radiofrequency – with injections of the patient’s own platelet-rich plasma (PRP). The energy-based device delivers a controlled injury to the area. This energy, delivered as heat, stimulates the process of cell turnover and rejuvenation. Hustak has found that the addition of PRP injections to the treated area can dramatically improve the results post treatment.

“I’m taking your blood, I’m spinning it down and concentrating those cells that normally respond to heat and injury, and then I inject them in very strategic places down below,” explains Hustak. “By taking these cells and exaggerating the response to heat, these two things together have really revolutionized women’s health.”

Patients Experience:

  • Vaginal Tightening
  • Increased Moisture
  • Improved Sensitivity

The result is a more sensitive, youthful, functional vaginal area. Hustak is able to track the improvement in intimacy through surveys that she has patients complete prior to the procedure and after undergoing the procedure. One of the questionnaires she uses is the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), developed for clinical trials to measure elements of sexual intimacy such as sexual arousal, satisfaction and pain.

“The results between patients having this O Procedure done and ones that have not had this done, have been dramatic,” shares Hustak.

Where is the PRP Injected?

Whether the so-called G-Spot exists – and if it does, how to find it – is a hotly debated subject. It is, however, no mystery that there are certain areas of the vagina, such as the top part of the vagina near the urethra, or along the walls, where there are concentrated bundles of nerve cells. It is into these areas that Hustak strategically injects the PRP cells to stimulate increased sensitivity during sex.

How Long Does the Procedure Take?

The O Procedure is what is referred to as a “lunchtime procedure,” meaning you can have it done during a lunch break and return to work right afterwards. “It takes 30 minutes to maybe an hour max,” says Hustak. “You can go back to your day. It’s really not uncomfortable at all.”

Unlike surgical vaginal rejuvenation procedures, which often require a several week to several month hiatus from sexual intercourse, patients who undergo the O Procedure can soon resume sexual activity. “Within a couple days to a week you’re ready to take it for a spin,” Hustak adds.

Will the Results Last?

Patients typically notice increased tightening, moisture and sensitivity with only one treatment session. The improvements experienced are long-lasting. The plasma injections continue to work and rejuvenate the area for a year or more following treatment. At some point down the road, however, most patients will desire a touch-up treatment.

“This is something that you do have to maintain,” explains Hustak. “It is something that will need to be touched up on, particularly with more and more use.  For some women that’s at a year, for some women that’s two or three years down the road.”
